What Is Virtual Event?

A virtual event can be a webinar, live stream, virtual conference, virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), virtual launching, virtual gala, virtual workshops, virtual teambuilding, basically any events that are happening fully online.

Virtual event can be more cost efficient as it can reach out to a bigger number of audience, globally. Event organiser can have attendees joining everywhere around the world. This also saves the cost of flying the keynote speakers or guests over to the host country as compared to the physical event.

However, the curation of virtual event and physical event are very different as the process of delivering information is completely different. Virtual Event vs Hybrid Event

A hybrid event is any event – conference, training seminar, trade expo, corporate launching, sales meeting and etc that combines live, in-person elements with digital, online audience or speakers. For example, a business conference that hosts an in-person Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and live streams its keynotes and sessions to a worldwide virtual audience would be considered a hybrid event. Hybrid events have grown popularity over the past decade because like virtual events, the allowed the event organiser to reach out to a wider audience and yet it preserves the quality of in-person experience for the on-site attendee.
